Board Membership

IDEAL BOARD MEMBER:
  • Individual with a demonstrated interest in workforce development
  • Person that understands the value of public-private partnerships
  • One who has a willingness to lead and to assist in the creation of a comprehensive workforce development system in Lane County.

The board candidate must be a representative of business who is an owner, chief executive officer, chief operating officer or individual with policy making or hiring authority, and whose business is from a growing sector of the Lane County economy.

BOARD EXPECTATIONS

All board members are expected to attend board meetings on the 4th Thursday of the month from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (see Board Calendar ). According to the board bylaws, members must attend a minimum of 50% of the meetings

Members must also participate in at least one committee or task force. Board committees include: Executive, Employer Workforce , Finance & Audit, Marketing, Future Workforce, Customer Services and Youth Council . Estimated time of commitment is two to four hours per month.
