Approximately $50,000 will be available to Lane County businesses, labor organizations and private non-profit organizations to train current workers. Awards will be limited to traded- sector businesses, i.e. businesses that sell goods or services outside the state, and healthcare organizations. No awards will be given to companies that have previously received funding. The Lane Workforce Partnership is seeking organizations that are interested in applying for these funds made available through the Governor’s Employer Workforce Training Fund. The purpose of the funds is to avert layoffs by enhancing the skills of the workforce and to position Lane County businesses to be globally competitive. Applications can be picked up at The Lane Workforce Partnership at 300 Country Club Road, Suite 120, in Eugene or viewed/downloaded below. Completed applications are due no later than 5:00 p.m., March 8, 2010. Award decisions will be made at the Lane Workforce Partnership’s Employer Workforce Committee meeting in mid-March 2010.
