Lane County’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped from 6.1 percent in February to 5.8 percent in March. The rate has dropped four months in a row with the last two months recording a large drop of more than 0.2 percentage points.  Oregon’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 5.4 percent and the national rate was 5.5 percent in March..

Seasonally adjusted total nonfarm employment increased by 70. This was the fifth consecutive monthly increase and the ninth increase in the last 12 months, indicating a steady upward trend.
