Lane Workforce Partnership Seeking Business Membership on its Board of Directors

Lane Workforce Partnership, the local workforce investment board, is seeking applications for business membership on its Board of Directors.  The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act requires that local workforce investment boards be comprised of a majority from business. Business representation must be owners of business, chief executive officers or employees with optimum policy making authority, and must be nominated by local business organizations, or business trade associations.

Workforce Board members serve renewable three-years terms from the date of appointment and must work or reside in Lane County.  Board meeting dates for Program Year 2017-2018 (July 1 – June 30) are:  September 28, 2017; February 22, 2018; May 24, 2018.  As a business-led workforce development organization, Lane Workforce Partnership has been making targeted and impactful investments in Lane County for over 25 years.  If you are a leader in your business and you are ready to be a leader in the community, we invite you to apply to join the Workforce Partnership Board of Directors.

Final approval on membership will be decided by the Workforce Council (made up of Lane County elected officials) on June 15, 2017.
