Investing in Our Future Workforce
Lane Workforce Partnership’s Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) youth/young adult services are delivered by Connected Lane County, a contracted organization. Lane County’s youth and young adults aged 14-24 receive comprehensive support in developing work readiness, academic, and occupational skills. These services are designed to enhance their prospects for success as they make the transition from school to further education or employment. For the period July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023, Lane Workforce Partnership invested $903,432 to serve at-risk youth.
Connected Lane County
Connected Lane County is committed to serving the youth and young adults in Lane County regions, including South Lane and its neighboring areas such as Cottage Grove, Creswell, Lowell, Oakridge, and Pleasant Hill. They also extend their services to the coastal region encompassing Florence and Mapleton, as well as the Springfield School District, Eugene 4J School District, Bethel School District, Marcola School District, and Looking Glass Community Services. Through their comprehensive WIOA program, Connected Lane County provides eligible participants with a range of opportunities. These include tailored educational pathways that lead to educational certification attainment, post-secondary education, training, job experience, internships, and ultimately, employment. Their approach to programming focuses on creating supported employment pathways, with two essential connections at its core. Firstly, they offer coursework designed to equip participants with the necessary financial foundation and career readiness skills. Secondly, they provide pathway experiences that involve job shadows, paid internships, and employment placements with the support of a dedicated adult mentor.
