Lane County, located in Oregon, stands as the fourth most populous county in the state and ranks third in terms of population within its metropolitan statistical area (MSA), following the Portland and Salem areas. The county’s total population of 382,647 individuals primarily resides within the confines of the Eugene and Springfield urban area. Notably, a significant majority of sixty percent live in incorporated cities within a 30-mile radius of Eugene, predominately found along Interstate 5. The remainder of Lane County’s population can be found dispersed across rural areas, including the corridor between Florence and Dunes City on the Pacific Coast, as well as the Oakridge area in the Cascade foothills.
