LWP AWARDED OYEP FUNDING

Lane Workforce Partnership has been awarded $577,914 from the Higher Education Coordinating Commission, State of Oregon for the Oregon Youth Employment Program (OYEP) for Program Year 2022. The purpose of the OYEP is to:

  • To develop youth and youth adults (ages 14 – 24) through skills training, work experience, career development and youth development.
  • Provide equitable and inclusive opportunity and access to meaningful experiences for youth;
  • To elevate collaborative impact within communities and their populations.

OYEP creates pathways out of poverty for Oregon youth who have been historically underrepresented in youth employment and other workforce and education programs. Connected Lane County will be the service provider for the OYEP in Lane County. Connected Lane County is a mission-driven organization striving to improve outcomes for underserved youth in Lane County. They equip Lane County youth with the tools to help them gain confidence in their abilities and see value in their decisions by helping to break down barriers, build bridges, and create strategic partnerships to connect youth with education and employment pathways to transform their future potential.
